Creating Captivating Portraits in a Gym
At Luminary Studio, we love creating images on location and enjoy the challenge of shooting in different real-life situations of our clients. We recently had the pleasure of working with Fia, a personal trainer who mainly works with women to help them achieve their fitness goals.The Challenge:
Shooting in a gym can be visually challenging, with all the equipment, mirrors, and graphics in the background. We had to carefully select a gym that would remove at least some of these distractions, and then use camera angles and artificial lighting to deal with the rest.The Solution:
We opted to use low camera angles, shooting wide and with a shallow depth of field. This gave us an opportunity to use foreground elements as part of the photo composition, and we also used flashes to create our desired results and reduce focus on the busy background.The Results:
We spent about 3 hours with Fia in front of the camera and walked away with our target of 6 images that we are really proud of.
